Centre of Environmental Science (CML)The Centre of Environmental Science (CML) is an institute of Leiden University whose main area of work is research and education in the field of environmental science. In 2001, there are 50 persons employed including 30 scientific staff. The interfaculty character reflects itself in the various staffmembers' backgrounds, such as: ecologists, chemists, anthropologists and sociologists.

The aim of the project is to identify and recommend effective policies to promote sustainable and environmentally sound economic and social development valuable for the entire region.

Its ultimate mission is to stop, and eventually reverse the accelerating degradation of the natural environment in the Philippines, and to help build a future in which Filipinos live in harmony with nature.
